Believing any problem in development can be solved given sufficient time, I am inclined to pursue the solution.
In the face of multiple failures I am open to change my approach and try again.
Upon graduating from University with a Bachelors Degree in Education, I happily worked as a Turkish Language and Literature Teacher in a secondary school setting but quickly realized that I would need to change my career path upon my arrival in Canada as my education and experience teaching Turkish would not be in high demand here.
After conducting extensive labour market research, career exploration and reflection, I decided to pursue a career in Web Development and in 2022 I successfully completed Lighthouse Labs’ Intensive Full Stack Web Development Diploma Program. During the nine month intensive Lighthouse Labs Full-Stack Web Development boot camp I learned many valuable skills in programming, creating websites and applications.
Learning and perfecting skills was a new challenge that I faced head on and which ultimately provided me with me a strong sense of accomplishment and pride. I have discovered a new talent and passion within myself and I wholeheartedly enjoy creating functional and visually appealing websites/applications with smooth user interfaces, creative design choices and multiple functionalities.
I am sincerely looking forward to beginning my new career as a Web Developer and I am eager to start working with a successful company and with a team of developers on new projects and challenges.
I have worked on
What I can offer
Backend development languages handle the ‘behind-the-scenes’ functionality of web applications and I learnt to establish the connection between server and database to client side, specifically with tools like Express and PostgreSQL. Worked on projects and the routing was mostly my responsibility. Also learnt to manage user connections and store them in hashed codes, via Bcrypt. I am always search of best practises to deliver smooth functionality that front-end needs.
Front-end web development, also known as client-side development is the practice of producing HTML, CSS and JavaScript for a website or Web Application, in other words dealing with user experience and user interface. To overcome this challenge I learnt Reactjs and its framework Next.js. Also worked with Bootstrap5 extensively.
Unit testing is a software development process in which the smallest testable parts of an application are individually and independently scrutinized for proper operation. In Lighthouse Labs we started unit testing with Mocha&Chai and as we progressed we learnt JEST and Cypress which we used especially on the our React projects.
